Paul Buentello-Interview
Buentello war zu Gast in der Radiosendung „Savage Dog Show“. Er zollte dabei seinem letzten Gegner Kiril "Baby Fedor" Sidelnikov Respekt für dessen Herz. In diesem Kampf wirkte es, als habe sich Buentello erneut seinen rechten Daumen gebrochen. „Die Hand schmerzte und war geschwollen“, so Buentello, „ich kämpfte anschließend vorsichtig weiter.“ Die Hand sei aber nicht gebrochen und wieder in Ordnung.
Angesprochen auf einen potentiellen Kampf gegen Fedor, lachte Buentello und bezeichnete die Ansetzung als unverdient. „Aus der Fanperspektive kann ich nur sagen: F*ck that sh*t“, kommentierte der ehrliche Buentello. „Ich war niemals unter den top 30 Heavyweights. Ich bin immer der Underdog. Deshalb hat man mich wohl für ‚Baby Fedor‘ ausgesucht.“
Seine Zukunft sieht er realistisch: „ich bin nicht in einer Liga mit Fedor, Barnett und Arlovski“. Allerdings gibt es nicht mehr viele Alternativen bei Affliction. „Tim Sylvia und Ben Rothwell wären großartige Gegner für mich, da sie auch gerne im Stehen kämpfen.“
